MLP Care and Enerjisa Enerji are joining forces to launch a pioneering initiative in the healthcare sector by establishing solar energy power plants (SEPPs) in Turkey. This collaboration aims to set a precedent in the industry, with plans to install solar energy facilities at seven different locations across four provinces: Çankırı, Yozgat, Sivas, and Gaziantep. The electricity generated from these plants will meet the energy needs of MLP Care’s hospitals using clean sources, preventing an annual carbon emission of 73,000 tons.
The solar energy power plants will supply over 90% of the energy requirements for MLP Care’s 27 Medical Park and Liv Hospital branches. The total installed capacity of the project is expected to be around 75 MWp, generating approximately 112,401 GWh of clean energy each year. This initiative will provide enough electricity for about 37,468 households through environmentally friendly methods.
Dr. Muharrem Usta, Chairman of the Board at MLP Care, emphasized that this collaboration marks a significant step towards sustainability. With this project, MLP Care will make a substantial contribution to achieving its carbon-neutral goal. Enerjisa Enerji and YEO Technology are also actively supporting Turkey's renewable energy transformation.
Turkey boasts rich solar energy potential, with an annual total sunshine duration of 2,737 hours, making it an ideal environment for solar energy projects. This partnership aims to produce innovative solutions in the healthcare sector while contributing to environmental sustainability goals.
This comprehensive project will not only impact energy production and consumption but also contribute to global objectives such as environmental sustainability and carbon emission reduction, significantly enhancing Turkey's energy independence.
